NEW!! Isager Trio 2 is a linen, cotton and lyocell blend that is perfect for warm weather knitting! Lyocell (aka Tencel, or Seacell) is a plant-based fiber with properties similar to cotton, linen, silk and ramie, but it is softer and airier, with a better ability to wick away moisture - making it a wonderful fiber for warm weather knits!
This yarn can be used individually, with one, two, three or more strands (try holding stands of different colors for a tweedy, marled look!). Trio 2 also works beautifully when held with other yarns - such as The Fibre Co. Meadow or Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton Sport! Next Saturday!! Join Lindsey Fowler of Larkspur Knits for this special Design Your Own Side by Side Shawl Class! The side by side shawl trend has been holding strong in the fiber world because knitters love making them! As Lindsey mentions in the description of her West Facing Wrap pattern, “[a side by side shawl] incorporates my favorite construction flow working from end to end keeping the rows short and the downhill slope to the finish line”.
We love side by side shawls for these reasons and more! Some of the other perks are — you can use all of your yarn without leftovers, as the second half of the shawl is a mirror image of the first. They can be worn over the shoulders like a traditional triangle shawl, but also look fabulous worn around the neck and styled more like a scarf. The shape is an open canvas for creativity and the shallower depth lends itself well to adornments - like tassels,
bobbles and fringe! Pattern Info : Bennet Sister Shawl by Lindsey Fowler (this pattern will be the basis of your own side by side shawl design and you will receive a free copy during the class!)
